Attractions

HostelKush Area Attractions:

Twin Lakes Park - 0.25 mile

Closest park to Hostelkush. The lake freezes during the winter sometimes. Thats about it, since there are no mountains in North Denver...

Last Call Sports Bar & Grill - 0.5 mile

Closest "Bar" to Hostelkush. Few video games and 1 pool table.

Starbuds Recreational Cannabis Dispensary - 1.2 miles - $7 uber/lyft

Closest dispensary to Hostelkush. Prices are not the cheapest. But during "Happy Hour" from 7pm to 9pm, wax is 25% off. Daily specials.

The Green Solution Cannabis Dispensary - 2.4 miles - $7 uber/lyft

Good selection and quality. Prices are not the cheapest. Sells clones.

King Soopers - 2.3 miles - $7 uber/lyft

Grocery store. Where I go. Tip: Look for the clearance items next to the restrooms in the back of the store. Use my phone number at the register for King Soopers discounts. There is also a "Green Sativa" and a "Medicine Man" cannabis rec dispensaries right there.

Coors Field baseball stadium - 5.4 miles - $9 uber/lyft

Im not a huge baseball fan but the games can be fun. Tip: Buy "Rooftop" tickets. Theres no traditional seating, but tickets are $16 and it comes with a $6 concession coupon. Also, beers are $3 before the first pitch;)

Downtown bars - 5.4 miles - $9 uber/lyft

Lodo: Check out Zanzibar for pool, retro room for infused vodkas, Tap fourteen for rooftop craft beers and distilled spirits, 1up for video games, Viewhouse/Tavern/Lodos for the big club atmosphere, Beta/Vinyl/Church for electonic clubs

Rino: Rino is a bit north of the Lodo/16th st mall scene. Lots of art murals on buildings. Lots of breweries like Epic, Great Divide, and Beryls. Work and Class has great food, Los Chingones has a summer rooftop, Nocturne for the jazz club, Larimer Lounge and Whiskey bar for dives.

Highlands: The Highlands (not Highlands Ranch) are right across i25 from downtown Denver. One of my favorite spots to go. Avanti has an awesome rooftop bar with views of downtown and one of those shared eating concepts with quite a few different options. Its also a good alternative to the higher tempo Lodo club atmosphere. Linger has great food and atmosphere, and Little Man Ice Cream is right outside. Ale house for beers. Plenty of excellent restaurant choices, sushi bars, and coffee shops.

South Broadway: South of downtown area that has an edgier vibe to it. Plenty of dive type bars, dispenseries, and restaurants. The hornet does a great bloody mary bar for brunch on weekends. Historians or Irish Rover are fun bars I go to when I get the chance. 3 Kings Tavern does a drag show. Skylark Lounge has lots of bands play there.

Union Station - 6.8 miles - $10 uber/lyft

Where the train from the airport drops you off at. If you arrive for breakfast, Snooze does a great one. Walk across Wynkoop street to go to Machete Tacos, Jax's Fish House, or Wynkoop Brewery. You are also just a block from the top of the 16th St Mall or a few blocks away from the Lodo bars and clubs. There are a few dispensaries around, but whenever you buy downtown, it will always be more expensive. If you have transportation and care about price, you should check out cannasaver.com or weedmaps for better deals.

The famous Red Rocks amphitheater - 18 miles

If you care about music and concerts and you havent been to Red Rocks to see a show, what are you doing with your life? Its a music venue amphitheater carved into the Rocky Mountains. Every band wants to play Red Rocks. The acoustics are amazing. There are hiking trails scattered around. Its also a popular workout and yoga destination.

Settlers Park free hiking (Boulder) - 22 miles

If you want to go do a quick hike and climb around some sweet rock formations then go get a beer or happy hour on Pearl Street in Boulder, this is the place. You can literally have a beer at the new Oscar Blues bar, walk down the street and do a sweet hike, then walk back for happy hour at Centros Mexican Kitchen. All within an hour or two. Its also only a 30 minute car ride from HostelKush or an express bus ride on the Flatiron Flyer from Union or Westminster Light Rail Stations.

Mt. Sanitas free hiking (Boulder) - 23 miles

This is a bit more challenging version of the Settlers Park "Hike" described above. Not quite as close to the Pearl Street bars in Boulder, but almost.

Guanella Pass Free Camping (Georgetown) - 52 miles

One of my favorite camping spots in Colorado. Take the Georgetown exit off i70 West, then drive through the quaint downtown and follow signs for Guanella Pass Road. Youll start to see camping spots along the road after you pass the "Xcel Energy Cabin. Hopefully there is no fire ban. Elevation is around 10,500ft. If you want to camp free then hike a "14er" mountain the next morning, this is a great option. Mt. Bierstadt (elevation 14,060) is right down the road.
